Mom's Secretly Buzzing about Erotica?
The hottest novel that everyone is gushing and blushing over is Fifty Shades of Grey by EL James. It is just another romance novel, or is it? Romance novels never get the notoriety that this trilogy has gotten. What is different about this trilogy?
Fifty Shades of Grey started out as a fan-fiction based on the Twilight Series but then later changed due to copyright issues. The book was originally released solely as an e-book and a print on demand book. Surprisingly it is now a bestselling paperback with no sign of giving up that spot.
Once the craze started a few months ago I began to ponder how an erotica, romance novel could grab the attention of almost every woman worldwide. I figured there must have been some brilliant Public Relations and marketing plan behind it.
Little did I know that word of mouth, has sparked this revolution. Word of mouth is the best marketing technique because consumers trust other consumers opinion and with the emergence of social media accessibility to people worldwide of all ages, word of mouth has become very powerful.
Another cause of the "mommy-porn" book phenomena is the acceptance of the E-readers. E-readers are not necessarily brand new technology but recently they have become more user-friendly and affordable. E-reader sales increased dramatically due to this book. E-readers allowed for instant downloads of this novel when there were no physical copies available. Women were buying e-readers solely to download this book.
Not only do the e-readers allow for instant access to a copy of the most-wanted book, it also allows for the reader to indulge privately. It saves the consumer embarrassment from going to a bookstore, asking for the book, and also the reader is able to read discreetly anywhere!
This erotic trilogy has shown the shift in technology and marketing. Either the author is a mastermind or she just got lucky.

Virtual to Physical Danger.
OK so since when does a murder case become global?
Especially when the victim and the accused are both local "joes".
What about the Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney of New Hampshire that was shot in killed today in a drug bust?
Or the two coast guard member's who were killed in a shooting in an Alaskan station.
For the New Yorker's, where are the protests for the mother who was beat to death by her son (a Fordham student)?
I haven't seen any hashtags for any of those stories.
Social Media has turned localized incidents into global issues. Why has this Martin and Zimmerman case gained the attention of social media-lites all over the country? Many say it is a race issue. Some say it is a gun control issue. The hype also snowballed after our president declared that his son would look like Trayvon Martin.
The passion all of the internet users suddenly have for justice is astounding. But, it concerns me when "political groups" place a bounty on Zimmerman's capture, dead or alive. They are calling for justice in the arrest of George Zimmerman, but how is it justice to savagely place a bounty on him?
How about when Spike Lee tried to tweet George Zimmerman's address, but instead led an angry mob to an old couple's home. Lee apologized "for retweeting wrong address for Zimmerman."
He shouldn't have tweeted any address in the first case! If he retweeted the right address he would of been satisfied and wouldn't have apologized!
Doesn't seem very justified to me, for all these civilians taking justice into their own violent hands.
I shouldn't be adding to the clutter and chatter about this case on the internet but it is truly appauling how people (especially celebrities) have been using social media to spread their violent ideas that catch on like wildfire.
